Kano, Sept. 9, 2024 – President Bola Tinubu has ordered reconstitution of the federal government palliative distribution committee.

Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, disclosed this on Sunday in Kano while flagging off the distribution of the federal government’s palliatives for the North West geo-political zone.

He said President Tinubu ordered the reconstitution of the committee because he was not satisfied with the previous methods of distribution of the palliatives.

Jibrin said the federal government was committed to distributing the palliatives fairly to ease the hardship in the country and called on Nigerians to rally round the President to fix the country.

“The President has done well by distributing palliatives, but the palliative support was not fairly distributed, that is why the President reconstituted the distribution committee.

“We are here to distribute the palliatives transparently and equitably and we are out to distribute the palliative down to the grassroots level,” Iibrin said.

Earlier, Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, said the 90 trucks of foodstuffs and an additional 20 trucks sent to Kano were not fairly distributed.  (GBN)
