Abuja, July 19, 2024 – Nigeria produced 236 million barrels of crude oil in the first half of 2024.
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) indicated this in its oil production statistics.
The statistics indicated that 44.2 million barrels of crude were produced in January, while 38.3 million barrels were produced in February.
in March, total oil production stood at 38.1 million barrels, while 38.4 million barrels were produced in April.
In May, 38.8 million barrels were pumped and 38.3 million barrels were achieved in June.
According to the statistics, the country produced the highest average daily crude production in January when it produced 1.43 million barrels per day.
The daily production dropped in February when it produced the daily oil production dropped of 1.32mbpd.
It fell further in March when the production fell to 1.23mbpd.
Daily production, however, appreciated marginally to 1.28mbpd in April.
The figure fell again to 1.25mbpd in May, while it rose to 1.28mbd.
The month of June saw the production increasing marginally to 1.28mbpd.
These production fluctuations reflected the dwindling nature of Nigeria’s crude production amid the challenges of oil theft and vandalism. (GBN)
