Abuja, Jan. 11, 2023 – Some youths on Wednesday stormed the premises of the head office of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Abuja protesting against the continued stay of Godwin Emefiele as the governor of the apex bank. Â
The protesters alleged that the CBN Governor is a threat to national security and demanded that he must resign or be sacked.Â
The youths, under the umbrella of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), said Emefiele should acknowledge the invitation of the Department of State Service (DSS).
NYCN President, Comrade Solomon Adodo, who led the protesters at the gate of the CBN, said the group would continue the protest in Abuja and across the country until the CBN Governor resigns.
There is tight security in and around the CBN headquarters over the action.(GBN)
