Abuja, June 10, 2024 -The federal government has constituted a committee to streamline policy formulation and deployment among the various sectors.

The committee is also to review and harmonise existing sectoral policies.

The committee, inaugurated by Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, comprises representatives from the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, the Office of the Vice President and other key stakeholders.

Bala Usman, who is also the Chairman of the committee, said the move was to address the lack of interrelationship across sectoral policies and outdated policies within various sectors.

She said the committee would leverage subject matter experts across sectors and work closely with ministries and heads of agencies to achieve its objectives.

Usman said the initiative was expected to enhance the federal government’s policy deployment and formulation, ensuring a more cohesive and effective approach to achieving its development goals. (GBN)
