Akure, Dec. 27, 2023 – Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the new Governor of Ondo State, on Wednesday said he was taking over the reins of power in state with a heavy heart.
He said this after he was sworn-in as the substantive governor of the state following the death of Rotimi Akeredolu, the state governor.
“It is a devastating thing for us to lose our dear governor. This is a monumental loss. It is a great loss to me as an individual,” he said.
Aiyedatiwa was sworn-in by the state Chief Judge around 4.00pm at Ondo State House.
Aiyedatiwa has been serving as the acting governor of the state since early this month when power was transferred to him by the state House of Assembly following the continued illness of Akeredolu. (GBN)
