Abuja, Dec. 19, 2023 – The House of Representatives has directed its committee on Army to investigate the Kaduna bombing incident that killed about 100 villagers of Tudun Biri.
The House took the decision after adopting a motion of urgent importance moved by Hon Umar Shehu Ajilo
It said the investigation was to enable the committee to assess the extent of the damage and to ensure adequate compensation to the victims.
It also mandated the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to provide the necessary relief materials to the families of the victims and survivors to ameliorate their sufferings.
The House said it was concerned about the incident that has resulted in the loss of several lives,
It said the recurrence of the incidents by the military was worrisome.
The House said it must ensure that these series of mistakes by the army should not go uninvestigated and the victims uncompensated. (GBN)
