Abeokuta, Sept. 17, 2023 -The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Sate says five persons were killed, while 15 were injured in a multiple accident along Lagos-Ibadan expressway in the early hours on Sunday.
The accident, which occurred at about 6.15 am, involved one DAF truck with number KMC 810 ZB, a Toyota bus with registration number TMA 244b XA and a Mitsubishi pickup with no number.
The command’s Spokesperson, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident to journalists in Abeokuta on Sunday morning.
She said that the accident, which occurred near Foursquare Camp, was caused by excessive speeding and loss of control by the truck driver, which made the truck to fall across the road.
The bus and the pickup van rammed into the truck after it fell across the road.
Okpe said the corpses of the dead had been deposited at a morgue in Ipara, near Abeokuta, while the injured were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere. (GBN)
