Abuja, Oct. 7, 2o25 – Prof, May Agbamuche-Mbu, a new Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has assumed office on Tuesday.
She took over from Mahmood Yakubu, the outgoing Chairman, who handed the office over to her.
The appointment of Agbamuche-Mbu, a lawyer, was formally announced by Yakubu on Tuesday at a meeting of Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) in Abuja.
Agbamuche-Mbu, who hails from Delta State, was a former resident commissioner in INEC.
She will act in office until the appointment of a substantive chairman.
