Lagos, July 17, 2025 – The Nigerian currency, Naira, depreciated again against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Wednesday, closing at N1,531 to the dollar.
This is against N1,528.65 to the dollar it closed on Tuesday.
The currency had appreciated against the dollar on Tuesday to N1, 528.65 on Tuesday from N1,532 on Friday, which was attributed to the $50 million that was injected into foreign exchange market by CBN last week.
The highest quoted rate in the market on Wednesday was 1,533 to the dollar, while the lowest rate was N1,527.
Meanwhile, the naira is currently being exchanged at the black market in Lagos at between N1,540 and N1,550 to the dollar.
