FG blames technical glitch for late payment of June salaries to some workers

Abuja, July 11, 2025 – The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has blamed technical glitch for the delay in the payment of June 2025 salaries to some workers.

Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF Director of Press and Public Relations), said this in a statement on Friday.

He said the government was aware of recent complaints by employees who were yet to receive their June salaries across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

He said workers whose salaries were domiciled in Zenith Bank were particularly affected.

“The OAGF is currently working closely with the relevant service providers and stakeholders to ensure that the failed payments are reprocessed without further delay.

“We appeal to all affected staff of the Federal Public Service to remain calm and rest assured that no effort will be spared in ensuring everyone receives their rightful salaries.”

The statement said the OAGF understood the anxiety and frustration caused by the delayed payments, especially considering the impact of timely salaries on the daily lives of public servants.

Mokwa said the problem[MTA1]  had been identified and arrangements were underway to reprocess the failed transactions as soon as possible.

“The welfare of Federal Government employees remains a top priority of the Office,” the statement.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience this unfortunate incident has caused and wish to assure all affected employees that immediate steps have been taken to resolve the issue.

“Your patience and understanding during this difficult time are highly appreciated,” Mokwa said.
