Lagos, March 17, 2025 – Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, a former Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos in the 2023 elections, has returned back to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was formerly in APC before joining the PDP.
Adediran announced his return to APC at a press conference in Lagos on Monday.
“We have decided to return to the All Progressives Congress, APC,” he said.
“Before you are quick to remind me of the reasons why I dumped APC, I want to say that there is a Yoruba adage that says, if a woman has not tried two husbands, she would not know which one is better”.
“In APC, we have a leader, even if you fault his selection choices, you can’t fault his desire to always win for his party to the benefit of all members, followers and the state.
“While in Lagos PDP, you have a leader that will, at every election cycle work against his own party, and willfully dash the hopes of many party members and followers. We have chosen the better alternative.
“Our journey in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 gubernatorial election and the election petition at the tribunal through to the Supreme Court was driven by a sincere desire to win for PDP and serve the people of Lagos state.”
Adediran urged his supporters across the state to join him in embracing the APC and work with him to build a Lagos that works for everyone.
“We remain committed to the values of service, integrity, and progress. Together, we will continue to champion the cause of a better Lagos for present and future generations,” he said
Adenira, while resigning from the PDP on March 3, 2025, said he was leaving the party due anti-party activities of some leaders of the party in Lagos State.
“We were waiting to see if the party at the national level governed by the constitution of the party would look into the provisions of that constitution and say that for engaging in anti-party activities openly, this is the sanction.
“We waited patiently for two years and see whether that would happen, instead of that, the same person was appointed Vice Chairman, Disciplinary Committee by the national,” he said.
