Abeokuta, Jan. 14, 2024 – Ten persons were feared dead in a dawn auto crash on Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday.
The accident, which happened around 4.30am, also left two other persons with varying degrees of injuries, while seven came out of the wreckage unscathed.
Witnesses said the driver of the Toyota bus with registration number KLD539XA lost control and rammed into the rear of an unmarked Mack container truck packed by the roadside.
Florence Okpe, an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the accident and attributed the cause to road obstruction on the part of the truck as well as speeding by the driver of the Toyota bus.
She said that the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention, while the remains of the dead were deposited at a morgue in Ipara. (GBN)
