Tinubu scraps 2 ministries in cabinet reshuffle

Abuja, Oct. 23, 2024 – President Bola Tinubu has scraped two ministries in a cabinet reshuffle announced on Wednesday.

The decision was taken at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

 The affected ministries are the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development

Bayo Onanuga, the Presidential Spokesman, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

“There will now be a ministry of regional development to oversee all the regional development commissions such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission and North East Development Commission.

“The National Sports Commission will take over the role of the Ministry of Sports,” he said.

Onanuga said the President also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.  (GBN)
