Lagos, Feb. 27, 2023 – Bola Tinubu, the APC Presidential Candidate, has called for peace and calm across Lagos State after he lost the presidential election in the state.
He advised residents in the state to eschew acts that could lead to breakdown of law and order.
Tinubu said the outcome of the election in Lagos, where Labour Party, won the presidential election should not be a source of provocation.
A statement issued on Monday by Presidential Campaign Council, said Tinubu expressed concern over reports of violence in parts of the state, especially attacks on some Igbo traders, after the announcement of the election results.
He said that the beauty of democracy is the peoples’ right to vote for the candidate of their choice.
Tinubu said that as a democrat he was bound to accept the outcome of any election whether favourable or not.
“The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence.
“As a democrat, you win some, you lose some.
“We must allow the process to continue unhindered across the country, while we maintain peace and decorum,” Tinubu was quoted as saying. (GBN)
