Tinubu appoints Ajuri Ngelale presidential spokesman

Abuja, Aug 1, 2023 – President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ajuri Ngelale as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Willie Bassey, the Director of Communications, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, said on Monday that the appointment was with immediate effect.

Ngelale was Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs in the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari.

The president urged Ngelale to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the new assignment.

With the appointment, Ngelale, will serve as the official spokesperson for the President and will also function as the Chairman of the Presidential Communications Team (PCT).

Ngelale, from Rivers State, was appointed a Co-Spokesperson for the All Progressives’ Congress (APC)  and Tinubu-Shetima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in October 2022.

He has degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Kansas (USA) and was at various times a Senior News Correspondent and Anchor in Channels Television and a Producer, Senior Investigative Journalist and Scroll News Editor in Africa Independent Television (AIT). (GBN)
