Timothy Adegoke: Rahmon Adeleke, owner of Hilton Hotels Ile-Ife, sentenced to death

Osogo, May 30, 2023 – Dr Rahmon Adedoyin, the owner of Hilton Hotels in Ile-Ife, has been sentenced to death by hanging over the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a Masters student of Obafemi Awolowo in 2021.

The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Ojo, has found the hotelier guilty,while delivering his judgment in Osogbo on Tuesday.

He said said circumstantial evidence tendered against Adedoyin showed that he was responsible for Adegoke’s murder.

He, however, found four members of staff prosecuted with Adedoyin innocent and discharged as well as acquitted them of the charges pressed against them.

There had been water tight security around the premises of the High Court  today as the Justice Ojo, delivered the judgment.

Timothy Adegoke, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was found murdered in the hotel in 2021.

Adedoyin, and six of his staff members were suspected and tried over the case.

The workers are Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola.

They were tried on 18-count charge of conspiracy, murder, felony, indecent interference of the corpse, alteration, and cancellation of receipt and oath-taking to prevent justice.

The Prosecuting Counsel was Femi Falana, while the Defence Counsel was Yusuf Alli. (GBN)
