Rev Father Isaac Achi, the Priest of St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church in Kafin-koro in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State, has been burnt to death by terrorists.
The terrorists also razed the catholic parish house and injured his colleague, Father Collins.
The incident occurred at 3.00 am on Sunday.
The terrorists were said to have set the parish house ablaze after attempting to gain entrance into the catholic parish house, but failed.
His colleague, Father Collins, was shot on the shoulder while trying to escape from the scene.
The Niger Police Command has confirmed the incident and said that the police tactical team attached to Kaffin-Koro Division had been drafted to the scene.
DSP Abiodun Wasiu, the Niger State Police Spokesman, said the terrorists had escaped before the police tactical team got to the scene.
He said that the corpse of Father Achi was recovered, while Father Collins was rushed to the hospital for treatment. (GBN)
