Lagos, Dec. 13, 2022 – Veteran journalist and sports administrator, Tony Nezianya, has appealed to delegates at the NOC election congress to vote for him to become the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the august body.
The NOC election congress is scheduled for December 15 in Jalingo, Taraba State
Nezianya has been shortlisted with two others for the position.
“I am your partner who you can trust to deliver the goods. With more than 34 years of public service experience at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), most of which I spent in the service of humanity through sports, I am sure I am a trusted friend for guidance and advice.
“I have served meritoriously in many sports codes as executive board member, the first was in the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN); the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) and currently the Nigerian Triathlon Union.
“In all the three, there is no gainsaying that I operated at the distinguished board levels where I contributed strategically to promote my federation at all times,’’ he said.
Nezianya said his contributions had remained the talking points among the younger ones.
`Indeed I have, at all times, ensured I won over the admiration of the younger ones by identifying with their aspiration of aiming to attain and surpass my height.
“To date, I am a sports journalist with as many as five Olympic Games behind me.
“A world-class journalist, Kunle Solaja, is the only one, to date, that has beaten my records in covering most of the World Cup assignments, where he conveniently covered nine record times with the latest World Cup tournament in Qatar.
“I not only studied journalism, but Advance Sports Management at the famous National Institute for Sports (NiSports) in Lagos,’’ he said.
Nezianya prayed for delegates to have a safe journey to Jalingo, a happy stay during the congress and also a safe journey back to their respective destinations.
“Vote me in to get the best of me,’’ he said. (GBN)
