Abuja, Jan. 12, 2024 – The Supreme Court has also upheld the election of Dauda Lawal of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as governor of Zamfara State.
The apex court, in its judgement on Friday, upturned the decision of the lower court which declared the state governorship election inconclusive.
The lower court had ordered a re-run of the election in three local government areas of the state.
In the judgement of the three-man panel, led by Justice Agim, the court declared that ‘’the decision of the Court of Appeal has no evidential foundation.’’
“The judgement of the Court of Appeal delivered in November is set aside.
“The order setting aside the appellant’s election is set aside. And the election of the Appellant is upheld,” the court said. (GBN)
