Abuja, Sept. 26, 2023 – The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Olayemi Cardoso as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Cardoso was screened alongside his four deputy governor-nominees whose appointments were equally confirmed. Â
The deputy governors are Emem Nana Usoro, Muhammed Sani Dattijo, Phillip Ikeazor and Bala Bello.
Cardoso and the deputy governors formally assumed office on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, ahead of his confirmation by the Senate.
