President Buhari closes loose ends to 2023 elections (re-issued)

Abuja, Feb. 22, 2023 – Preparatory to the 2023 general elections, President Mohammadu Buhari had an unscheduled meeting with the INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, presided over the National Security Council meeting and inaugurated the security equipment donated by the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID).

The Global Business News (GBN) reports that all these were done in a day just to close the loose ends toward the 2023 general elections.

The unscheduled meeting with INEC was at the instance of the INEC Chairman who explained that it was all part of efforts toward free, fair and credible elections.

The meeting of the National Security Council was aimed at reviewing the security situations across the country ahead of the elections.

The Council advises the President on public security issues.

The President also launched security equipment donated by the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) at the Council Chambers.

The security equipment, which he handed over to the military and Nigeria Police Force, is valued at over N12 billion. (GBN)
