Lagos, Feb. 17, 2023 – The Lagos Police Command said it had restored normalcy to parts of the state that were disrupted by rioters in the early hours of today.
Its Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, told journalists that the areas were now under control and people had been going about their daily activities.
He said that no arrest was made, but “we are on ground to restore the peace and normalcy.”
The Global Business News (GBN) reports that some roads in Ojota were blocked with bonfires in the early hours of the morning with sporadic gun shots heard.
There was also pandemonium in Mile 12 and along Ikorodu road, while bonfires were also made to block roads in Ketu and Ojo with seen running for their lives.
An eye witness said the stampede in Ojota started by 6.00 am when some “area boys” blocked the roads with bonfires and started attacking passengers. (GBN)
