Minimum Wage: FG to amend 2024 Appropriation Bill

Abuja, July 15, 2024 – The federal government is to amend the 2024 Budget to accommodate the new minimum wage and other new fiscal developments.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, disclosed this to journalists on Monday at the end of the FEC meeting.

He said the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has, therefore, mandated the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning to come up with an Amendment to the 2024 Appropriation Bill to be presented to the National Assembly for legislation.

He said the president would hold another round of meeting with leaders of the organised Labour on Thursday this week for the final decision on the new minimum wage.

This will inform the inputs into the proposed amendment bill to the budget. (GBN)
