Labour confirms suspension of 7-day protest

Lagos, Aug. 3, 2023 – The organised labour has confirmed the suspension of the seven-day protest which started on Wednesday.

Festus Osifo, the President of Trade Union Congress (TUC), confirmed the suspension during an interview with Arise News on Thursday morning.

He said that labour was able to extract some commitments from President Tinubu during their meeting on Wednesday evening.

Osifo said the commitment made by the President were for immediate implementation.

He Global Business News (GBN) reports that some of the commitments made by the president included the resuscitation of the Port Harcourt refinery to work by December, immediate implementation of a wage award when agreed upon and a workable roadmap to the CNG alternative by next week. (GBN)
