Kaduna, May 11, 2023 – Kaduna State Government has reinstated 1,288 public school teachers sacked after a competency test in June 2022.

The Kaduna chapter of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) confirmed this on Thursday, saying the development would help to bridge the gap in the teacher-pupil ratio in the public schools.

It commended the state government for the reinstatement of its affected members.

It will be recalled that the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) had initially sacked 2,357 primary school teachers over a competency test held June 2022, while about 2,192 teachers were dismissed for failure to sit for the test.

More than 165 teachers were sacked for poor performance. (GBN)
