Kaduna, Dec. 10, 2023 – Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, on Sunday announced a donation of N109 million December salaries of Senators to the victims of Kaduna bombing mishap.
About 100 villagers of Tudun Biri in Kaduna State were killed in bomb blasts while they were celebrating Maulud, an Islamic ceremony, last Sunday night.
The Nigeria military has claimed responsibility for the incident over which it had expressed regrets.
Jibril announced the donation when he led some principal officers of the Senate on a condolence visit to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Sunday.
He said the donation was the December salaries of all the senators, adding that the donation was for the welfare of the victims.
Jibril promised that the National Assembly would work with the presidency to unravel the circumstances of the bombing. (GBN)
