Abuja, Sept. 27, 2023 -The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) on Wednesday assured the 17,000 federal government employees who were delisted from the IPPIS payroll of redress.
Comrade Okon, the National President of ASCSN, gave the assurance while speaking with journalists in Abuja.
He said the leadership of the association had taken action and urged the affected civil servants to remain calm as measures were underway to resolve their grievances.
Okon said the problem was caused by alleged failure of those affected to comply with a verification exercise carried out over five years ago.
He alleged that the IPPIS portal contained names of some personal assistants, special advisers and in some cases ministers who had served in successive governments.
Okon expressed disappointment that some genuine civil servants had claimed ignorance of the verification exercise.
He called on those with legitimate complaints, particularly those who had previously completed the online verification on the IPPIS portal, to submit scanned copies of their documents.
Okon said the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation had granted a one-week grace period for those who were mistakenly omitted from the IPPIS portal to submit their documents for updating.
He, however, appealed to the head of service to extend the one-week grace period as the process could be rigorous. (GBN)
