Maiduguri, March 20, 2023 – Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno said he had approved N14.9 million donation to reward the 149 firemen in the state for their gallantry in putting out Saturday’s fire outbreak at Gamboru Market in Maiduguri.
Zulum, who made the donation in Maiduguri on Sunday, said that the donation was in recognition of their swift response to the fire outbreak.
He said that their efforts prevented the fire from escalating to the magnitude witnessed two weeks ago at the Maiduguri Monday market.
Zulum said he had approved the N14.9 million as grants to the 149 firemen working under both the federal and state fire services. (GBN)
