Bauchi, March 14, 2024 – Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Wednesday expressed his support to Senator Abdul Ningi, who was suspended by the Senate on Tuesday.

Ningi was suspended from the Senate due to his allegation of budget padding of N3.7 trillion in the 2024 Federal Budget he made against the Senate in a BBC Hausa interview last weekend.

Mohammed expressed his displeasure over the development, saying that he wasn’t happy about the suspension of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker.

Mohammed, who is also the Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum, said this during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Bauchi.

“Yesterday I was very sad that the Senate suspended one of our best from Bauchi for telling the truth, for standing up to be the beacon of the truth.”

“Equally, I don’t know what we will do, but we will discuss privately to see what we can do to support him because I support whatever he is doing and that is our best position, especially if what he saying is the truth.”   (GBN)
