Lagos, Feb. 17, 2023 – Four banks were attacked by hoodlums in Epe, Lagos State, on Friday morning as insecurity and lawlessness were reported in other parts of the state.
The Global Business News (GBN) reports that the banks were violently attacked by the hoodlums and forced to close down.
The attacks in Epe came after hoodlums took over parts of Ojota, Mile 12, Ikorodu Road and Iyana-Oba in the early hours of Friday.
There were also reports of civil unrest in parts of Ikorodu like Sabo, Majidun, Agric and Ogolonto.
Oluwole Olusoji, the President of Association of Senior Staff in Banks and Financial Institutions, on Thursday said 17 banks in Lagos had so far been attacked since the crises on currency-swap started.
He said that the banking sector had lost about N5 billion to the crises. (GBN)
