Abuja, Aug. 10, 2023 – A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Thursday fixed Aug. 15 to hear applications on the custody of Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria.

Emefiele is facing a two-count charge bordering on “illegal possession” of firearms.

K.A. Fagbemi, the Prosecuting Counsel, had asked the court to hear the Federal Government’s application first.

Victor Opara, Emefiele’s Counsel, however, argued that the applications of both parties should be entertained on the same day.

The judge ruled that both applications would be heard on the same day. (GBN)
