Lagos, May 27, 2024 – The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) om Monday celebrated the 2024 Children’s Day with a message to them, their parents and guardians to keep cybersafe.
The NCC, in the message on its official social media channels on Monday, warned the children that in as much as they must surf the net and be exposed to internet, they need to be cautious and be mindful of what they expose themselves to.
The NCC advised the children to always keep their identity safe and secured by not sharing their personal information such as name, picture, phone number and school name to strangers online.
It also advised the children to always use their phone where their parents can see them. “This helps keep you safe and build your parents trust in you.
“Don’t click on prop-ups, links from websites, messages or while gaming online as these could take you to risky websites that can compromise your personal information.
“Stop and think before you click to connect,” the messages read. (GBN)
