Abuja, May 17, 2024 Binance Holdings Ltd on Friday expressed disappointment over Nigeria’s court refusal to grant bail to one of its officials, Tigran Gambaryan, who is standing trial over alleged money laundering offences.

A Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, refused to grant the bail application of Gambaryan over fears that he may jump bail.

Binance has, however, said in a statement that it was deeply disappointed that Tigran Gambaryan, who has no decision-making power in the company, continues to be detained.

“We are deeply disappointed that Tigran Gambaryan, who has no decision-making power in the company, continues to be detained.

“Tigran has been dedicated to public service and fighting crime for most of his life. These charges against him are completely meritless.

“He should be freed while discussions continue between Binance and Nigerian government officials,” Binance said.
