Lagos, Jan. 23, 2023 – The National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) and Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) have suspended the strike action embarked on by their members this morning.
The workers had embarked on the strike this morning unannounced, leaving many passengers stranded at airports across the country.
The workers at the National Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) were said to have called for the strike over poor wages
Frances Akinjole, the Deputy General Secretary of ATSSSAN, confirmed suspension of the industrial action this afternoon while speaking to journalists.
“It has been suspended and they have agreed to commence negotiation on the salary issue,” he said. (GBN)
