Attacks: Buhari directs improved surveillance in Benue

Abuja, April 8, 2023 – President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the secret services, police and military commanders to enhance their surveillance in Benue State.

President Buhari gave the directive while condemning the recent attacks in Benue state where about 134 persons were reported killed in the last five days.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by Sheu Garba, the Presidential Spokesman, the President condemned terrorism as a tool in inter-communal conflicts.

He directed that the attackers must be found and dealt with swiftly under the law.

Buhari conveyed his grief and sympathy to the families of those who died in the attacks.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those murdered. The entire nation stands united in the fight against the forces of terror and evil,” he said. (GBN)
