Kano, Feb. 10, 2023 – The Court of Appeal sitting in Kano on Friday sacked Mohammed Abacha as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State
The court set aside the judgment of a High Court that recognised Abacha as the PDP flag bearer in the state.
The court has ordered that Sadiq Wali, who was earlier recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to remain the valid governorship candidate.
The judgment of three-man panel delivered by Justice Usman Musale, held that Abacha had no locus standi to challenge the primary that produced Wali since he never participated in the primary election. (GBN)
