Abuja, Jan. 8, 2024 – Sadiya Umar-Farouq, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, has finally reported at the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) for interrogation.
She reported at the EFCC office in Abuja around 10.00 am on Monday.
The EFCC had invited her over allegation of money laundering to the tune of N37, 170,855,753.44 through a contractor, James Okwete.
The former minister announced her appearance at the EFCC through her X page.
“I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating,” Umar-Farouq tweeted on Monday morning.
Sadiya had earlier turned down the EFCC invitation on health grounds and had requested for three weeks to tend to her health which was granted by the EFCC. (GBN)
