Presidential Election: Supreme Court upholds Tinubu’s victory

Abuja, Oct. 26, 2023 – The Supreme Court has affirmed  the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petitions of Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of Labour Party as lacking in merit.

In the unanimous judgment delivered by Justice John Okoro, the court upheld Tinubu’s election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on February 25 and affirmed by the Appeal Court on September 6.

“The judgment of the court below delivered on September 6, 2023 affirming the election of the second respondent as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is hereby affirmed,” the court ruled. . (GBN)
