Lagos, Sept. 21, 2023 – The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has postponed its 293rd meeting scheduled for Monday, Sept. 25 and Tuesday, Sept. 25.
This postponement was announced by the CBN Director of Communications, Dr Isa AndulMumin. and 26, 2023, respectively.
The statement said that a new date would be communicated in due course.
“We regret any inconvenience this change may cause our stakeholders and the general public,” the statement said.
The CBN did not give any reasons for the postponement, but the postponement of the meeting may not be unrelated to the absence of the governor of the bank, who normally, chairs the meeting.
The MPC is the think tank of the apex bank and formulates the monetary policy. (GBN)
