Abuja, Aug. 9, 2023 –Two of the ministerial nominees, Nyesom Wike and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, are currently at a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The two visitors were screened by the Senate for ministerial appointment which ended on Monday.
While Wike was succeeful at the screening, el-Rufai has not scaled the hurdle as the Senate said it was still awaiting security reports on him.
The Senate has sent the list of successful ministerial nominees to the presidency.
Wike is being touted to be the minister of works and housing.
El-Rufai, a former Gov. of Kaduna State, was accused of some corrupt practices while in office by a Senator during the screening process, but it is doubtful if that can be his Waterloo.
He is probably at the presidential villa for consultations. (GBN)
