Kano, June 26, 2023 – Mr Muhyi Magaji Rimingado, the reinstated Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission, has resumed duty, assuring staff of non victimisation, but more work.

Muhyi Rimingado gave the assurance in a statement after he addressed staff of the commission and consulted with stakeholders in Kano.

The chairman allayed fears of staff that they would be victimised for betraying him or take revenge on all those responsible for his predicament.

“I assure you that I won’t look back. What happened is destined to happen.

“So, there is no time to waste on victimising anybody for betrayal or take revenge on persons that schemed my suspension.

“It is all history today as we are vindicated by competent courts of law. We move on with our mandate,” he charged the workers.

Rimingado advised them to buckle up for more work as they would be expected to perform optimally and deliver on given tasks within timeframes.

He solicited for their maximum support and cooperation to combat corruption in the state and upscale public trust in government.

It will be recalled that Rimingado was first suspended from office for a month in July 2021, by former governor Abdullahi Ganduje over sundry allegations of rejecting to work with an accounts officer posted from the state ministry of finance.

Ganduje later terminated his appointment in January 2022 for which Muhyi Rimingado filed a suit before the National Industrial Court in Abuja and Kano, challenging the actions and seeking redress on his fundamental human rights, respectively.

The courts ruled in his favour and ordered the state government to not only pay all his dues, but also reinstate him for failing to respect the laws establishing the antigraft agency.

Gov. Abba Yusuf, on Wednesday, announced Rimingado’s immediate reinstatement in compliance with the court order and asked him to complete his five years tenure. (GBN)
