Lagos, April 19, 2023 -The driver of a commercial bus died instantly on Wednesday when his bus had a head-on collision with a BRT bus in Lagos.
Seven passengers with varying degrees of injuries were rescued from the two buses and taken to the hospital.
The BRT bus, belonging to the Lagos state Government, was burnt down by hoodlums.
Adebayo Taofiq, the Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, said preliminary investigation revealed that the fully loaded commercial bus was speeding while returning from Lagos Island to Ogudu when the accident occurred.
He said that LASTMA had carried out series of enlightenment campaigns to warn motorists, particularly commercial bus drivers against speeding.
Bolaji Oreagba, the General Manager of LASTMA, also warned members of the public not to take laws into their hands at any accident scene, but to allow appropriate authorities to do the needful. (GBN)
