Egbetokun calls for peace, love in New Year

Abuja, Dec. 31, 2023 – Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has enjoined Nigerian to embrace peace and love in the New Year.

The IGP made the appeal in Abuja on Sunday in a statement issued by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Spokesman for the Nigerian Police Force..

“In these times, the IGP emphasizes the importance of collective efforts in building a harmonious society, urging communities to strengthen the bonds that unite us and foster understanding among diverse groups by embracing love and tolerance.

“In the spirit of unity and progress, the IGP affirms that we can overcome differences and work together towards a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.

“The Inspector-General of Police reiterates that the Nigeria Police remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, while encouraging the public to collaborate with the Police and other security and law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activities that may threaten the peace and well-being of our communities.

“Together, let us embark on a journey of compassion, understanding, and cooperation. May this new year (2024) bring about positive transformations for our great nation.

 “Once again, we wish you a happy, prosperous, and fulfilling new year, 2024,” he said. (GBN)
