Bauchi, May 12, 2023 – Eight persons were killed, while seven others were injured in a road accident which occurred at Kili village on the Darazo-Kari federal highway on Thursday midnight.
The Bauchi State Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident on Friday in a press statement by the Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi.
According to the FRSC report, It was a lone traffic crash involving a grey Volks Wagen Sharon mini bus with vehicle registration number BCH 465 XA belonging to the fleet of NURTW, used for commercial purposes.
The FRSC said tyre burst was the likely cause of the crash.
The total number of people involved in the crash were 15, made up of four male adults, six female adults, two male children and three female children.
The number of people injured was seven comprising one male adult, four female adults and two female children, while those killed were eight made up of three male adults, two female adults, two male children and one female child.
The type of injuries sustained were bruises, head injury and fracture’
The corpses and injured were evacuated to the General Hospital, Darazo. (GBN)
