Akure, Nov. 29, 2025 – The Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSA) has called for removal of all illegal signate structures within the Government Reservation Areas (GRA) in Akure.
It directed business owners, organisations and brand custodians who have unapproved or unpermitted signage structures in the affected area to act without delay.
The agency gave the advice in a statement issued by Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor.
It listed the affected areas in Akure to include Alagbaka, Ijapo, Oba-Ile, Ikare-Akoko and others within the GRA.
“All holders or installers of such illegal advertisement structures and materials are required to remove them immediately or visit OSSA office for regularization and permit processing
“Failure to comply will attract enforcement action as taskforce teams will commence removal of illegal banners, signages and branded structures without further notification.
“This directive supports the state’s commitment to urban order, environmental beauty and regulated outdoor advertising.
“For permit guidance, inquiries or compliance processing, contact the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage & Advertisement (OSSA), the statement said.
OSSA also said it had started removing illegal signate structures across Owo local government area, targeting illegal signages, unregistered banners, and non-permitted advertisement structures.
It said the operation, being led by Yòmí Oyékàn, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage & Advertisement, reinforced the state’s commitment to proper outdoor advertising regulation and visual order.
