
Lagos, Sept 24, 2025 – The Nigerian currency, Naira, depreciated further against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday, closing at N1,493.2 to the dollar.
It had depreciated on Monday to N1,491.49 from N1,488 to the dollar on Friday.
The steady slide in the value of the naira in the last two days was in spite of the $150 million injected into the market by the Central Bank of Nigeria last week.
Bid rate at the market on Tuesday ranged from N1,495 to N1,482.55 to the dollar.
Meanwhile, the currency was traded at between N1,510 and N1,520 to the dollar at the black market in Lagos on Tuesday.
